Was beyond exhilaration when I first hear about that. I get to see Sugizo again!!! And playing raize live!
Not that I am not happy to see Inoran. But, you know, Inoran is always here in HK.
Show starts a bit earlier at 19:00 as it is Saturday. Queuing is scheduled at 18:00. We arrived at 18:30 and just in time before they ushered us into the venue.
Show starts around 1915, so it is definitely prompt by concert standard.
What is surprising is that SUGIZO himself arrives on stage for the first song, followed immediately by Inoran. No staff, no band members. Just them two. What simplicity and what grandeur.
Sugizo is on his Brilliant mixed media violin, and Inoran took up the guitars.
They played Sugizo's old song, can't recall the name exactly at the moment. Sugizo's violin took the place of his usual guitar melody.
Then Sugizo opens with Tell Me Why, followed by SURPRISE!! Exorcism
Fatima was played in violin, I was blown away! Of course he did his little dance in the middle, but no, not the erotic fondle he did 6 years ago. Just the normal swaying and hip gyrate. The projection behind, if my memory serves me correctly, was his exotic belly dancers.
So so excited to hear all the older scores again, rearranged.
Sugizo sama has a new toy as well. Besides his violin and guitar, he also took out what looks like a "May the force be with you" lighted blade, and actually is used like a theremin. If anyone knows what it's called, please do enlighten me.
He ended his set with Tell Me Why. Like a completed circle.
I think he replaced Origa's vocals with another persons. It sounded less ethereal. RIP Origa.
Very disappointed Takumi wasn't on set. (Yes last time my eyes were all on Takumi. Don't hit me!) But I should've expected, since he should be touring with Gackt at this moment. Well some wishful thinking...
Inoran's setlist were mostly old songs as well, so I recognize most of them.
Surprisingly, Sugizo did not play on raize. Instead, he joined in for guitar on Beautiful Me. Somewhat disappointed, but again good they did try to put in new things instead of looping. The Sugizo on Raize for the Liquid Room show was, what, 3 years, ago, ne?
The whole venue got ultra high when Inoran played Pink Spider. We all love you hide!
Do not remember too much on Inoran's set, except for his trying to introduce Sugizo as "big brother"in Cantonese and no one seems to get what he is trying to say; also he again asking us to get "High D" which sounds so much like obscene language every single time ROFL. Really! after so many years he still can't get it right my god.
They came out for two curtain calls, after which is the meet-and-greet. The show ended at just after 2130. Not bad!
